plus more about NBA Launchpad demo day

News, features & insights from the world of Sports Tech. Every Week.

A summary of our conversations with innovators in Sports Broadcasting, capped off by a tour of the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) in Paris earlier this week. Seeing that tech first hand speaking with the people delivering it was really cool.

There’s so much innovation happening around live sports broadcast. The screen based experience is already pretty good and only going to get better. Time for the live in-venue experience to catch up.

As always, have a great weekend!

SportsTech Allstars Recap: Innovation in Broadcasting Tech

With all the growing momentum around sports broadcasting - Recent major events of Euro 2024 & Paris Olympics, NBA’s record $77 bln rights deal etc. - we spent the last 6 weeks speaking with innovators in broadcasting technology.

From startups & scaleups, from data collection to visualisation, from VR and multiview experiences, to anti-piracy and content optimisation, - we’ve covered a lot of topics.

Here's the list of guests we've had on the pod:

🎙 Rob Koenen, Co-Founder & CBO at Tiledmedia

🎙 Amos Varon, Chief Revenue Officer at Videocites

🎙 Lawrence Platt, Managing Director of Tour Sports at Hawk-Eye Innovations Ltd

🎙 Anna-Carin Månsson, CEO and Manni Svensson, Executive Chairman of 1080 Motion

🎙 Andrew O'Neil , Head of Sport at Vizrt

🎙 Carlos Ballesteros Hernández, Co-founder & CEO at Pendular

As part of the series we also had a look at the New Broadcast Innovations by Intel for Paris 2024 Games and even got to visit the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) in Paris to take a first hand look at all the latest tech. 8k broadcast, AI based highlights & multiview, 3D imaging for AR fan experiences, we got the lot. That deserves an article of its own, so keep an eye out 👀

Has been really fun series, one that we're sure to do a follow up on given how fast this space is moving.
