Monthly Themes: Recap and What’s Next

Well, almost every fortnight. We missed last Wednesday’s newsletter because of technical issues with the application we use so instead of publishing on a different day, we decided to wait a week. Sorry if you missed us

SportsTechX Monthly Themes

At SportsTechX, we’ve always believed that our job is to deliver insights and understanding rather than just news and the latest goings on.

In 2023, we decided to do this by breaking down specific, topical themes in SportsTech every month – speaking with industry leaders on our podcast and adding our own perspective in our articles.

If you haven’t caught up on our monthly themes from the year so far, here are summaries of each. Includes links to the episodes and articles:

 June: AI in Sports

The stellar lineup of guests – from top tier investors to medal winning athletes to those innovating in new markets – have brought an interesting perspective to each theme. Adding on the extensive research for each article, all this has meant that the learning for us has been tremendous.

What’s Next:

Well we have a pretty cool lineup for the rest of the year.

 September: StadiumTech

In partnership with DFL’s upcoming SportsInnovation event

 October: CricketTech

Leading up to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup

 November: Top Funded Companies

Leading up to our SportsTech VC Report

December: Innovation in Esports & Gaming

Closing out the year with one of the hottest themes going

If you’d like to partner up on any of our upcoming themes, feel free to get in touch

Else, we hope you’ve enjoyed the content. We’ve definitely enjoyed bringing it to you.

Details of topics for November or December may be updated

SportsTech Allstars for July: SportsTech for Women’s Sports

Women’s sports are slowly but surely getting the attention they truly deserve. More coverage for competitions and games leads to the need for the development of the entire ecosystem around it to match the growing demand and popularity of women’s sports.

At SportsTechX, we spent the month of July speaking with some startups and the first women’s sports-focused fund on our SportsTech AllStars Podcast, shining the spotlight on innovators in women’s sports.
